auBrey's 1976 Scamp Trailer
Restoration Project - Summer 2003

In the summer of 2003 auBrey decided it was time to become even more mobile. Not wanting to give up his trusty old 1990 VW Jetta
Turbodiesel --- with its 60 horsepower engine --- it became apparent that a lightweight camper/trailer would be the only way to go.
After searching for a couple of months he found an affordable, vintage, all-fiberglass, 14' trailer that weighed about 1000 lbs when empty.
Despite needing some cosmetic work, the vehicle proved to be towable by the Jetta and its infrasturcture was in excellent shape.
Thus, auBrey undertook to transform the rig into what it is today. Here are some images of the result of his search and reno work. |
